JURAS – If you had an appointment for your oath during the lockdown and you could not go because the registry was closed, please be alert! The central Civil Registry of Madrid is calling people by telephone, if they had a date for swearing the oath, in order to give them a new appointment.
Today (22nd June) we have been present at the first of these new appointments, with one of our clients and friends, who was the taking the oath in the civil registry in Calle Pradillo, 66.
How did the the oath go?
There were fewer people doing it than at other times but otherwise it was completely normal. In the area where weddings are held several people with appointments were brought into the room together, and they all swore that oath of loyalty to the Law, the Spanish Constitution and His Majesty Don Felipe of Bourbon. And immediately after this, each person was called forward by an official one by one.
What do I need to take?
Beware! It’s essential to take the document which they gave you at the time of the “prejura” at the civil registry, they will ask you for this document on the way in It must have all the information concerning your birth and information about your parents etc. If there is anything which you do not remember, don’t worry.
PREJURAS – At Bennet&Rey we are worried because currently when you apply on the internet to make the preliminary appointment (the Prejura), the part of the procedure provided by the Community of Madrid, it says that the Central Madrid office for this (at Pradillo, 66) is closed. For the other areas of Madrid however you can currently request an appointment.
We hope that this part of the the oath process will start again soon for Central Madrid.
